CA – Blood Donation Campaign 2024

Empowering Communities Through CA Sri Lanka Australia Chapter Blood Donation Initiative

In a world where a single act of kindness can make a profound difference, the CA Sri Lanka Australia Chapter embarked on a meaningful journey to contribute to the health and well-being of our community. Organized with a vision of compassion and a commitment to service, our nationwide Blood and Plasma Donation Initiative stood out as a testament to the power of giving back.

Local blood banks and hospitals often struggle to maintain an adequate supply for emergencies, surgeries and medical treatments. However, despite the critical need, blood donation rates often fall short. Recognizing this gap, our chapter stepped forward to make a tangible impact.

As accountants, we thrive on precision, collaboration, and dedication. These very values were evident as our members came together to donate blood and plasma. This initiative not only addressed a pressing societal need but also reinforced our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility as part of the CA Sri Lanka global community.

The event saw an overwhelming response from our members, their families, and friends, demonstrating that collective action can indeed save lives. Beyond the numbers, it was heart-warming to witness the solidarity and shared purpose of those who participated.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the members, their families, and friends who donated and to those who supported the initiative in various capacities. Your contributions are invaluable and inspire us to continue exploring ways to serve our community meaningfully.

Investments Supports

Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka – Australia Chapter, an overseas affiliate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce to promote business linkages, facilitate investments, and provide expertise to both Australian and Sri Lankan businesses and investors.

The MoU was signed in December 2024 at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce head office by Indika Mohottige, President of the CA Sri Lanka – Australia Chapter, and Buwanekabahu Perera, Secretary General / CEO of The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. The ceremony was also attended by Anuruddha Dias (Past President, CA Sri Lanka – Australia Chapter) and Dinithi Dias (Secretary, The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce).

The CA Sri Lanka – Australia Chapter is the first overseas chapter of CA Sri Lanka to enter into an MoU with The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, further strengthening collaboration between the two institutions and expanding services to the business and investor community. In addition, the Chapter organised business forums in 2023 and 2024 to support commercial ties between both countries.

This MoU marks a significant milestone in the Chapter’s journey and reaffirms its commitment to initiatives that benefit both Sri Lankan and Australian business communities.
